| I have always been drawn to forests, especially what I think of as blue collar forests. While I marvel at, and appreciate the magnificent specimens living in our National Parks, they represent a very narrow view of our connection with trees. In a forest I see communities of beings, creating and collaborating in the rich cycle of living and dying. From my early days as a logger in the Sierra Nevada Mountains to my present home on Dreaming Forest Farm, I have lived and worked from, with and in the trees. Embracing the paradox we all live – trees as resource and trees as sentient beings – provides fertile ground for my photography. View CV as PDF |
